Minimum Age: 21
Located above Celeste at 111 W.Hubbard street, Disco is a nightlife sanctuary with the essential wall-to-wall LED dance floor, custom retro wall coverings, fur sofas, ornate mirrored ceilings, tropical plants, and Lucite furnishings.

Everything old is new again thus the recreating of the age of Studio 54, Le Freak and boogie nights. Disco wears its retro aspirations on its sleeve, boasting a gigantic lighted dance floor and plenty of massive mirror balls. The playlists are also a conscious throwback to the ’70s, filled with key disco (duh), funk, soul and house music cuts. Show up on Friday and Saturday nights from champagne and dancing in this Instagram-worthy club, while guests sip on champagne, gaze at giant disco balls and soak up bad decisions with $40 pizzas.

Derived from gay underground New York clubs, Disco was a white hot trend fueled by amyl nitrate, flickering strobe lights and unrelenting rhythm. Disco Chicago hustles its way to be a chic, late-night club with plenty of room to dance the night away, while drinking vintage champagne, craft cocktails or bottle service. Expect to feel as though you're in a nightlife sanctuary with pulsating 1970s Funk, Soul, Latin, Pop and House as a soundtrack. Those in-the-know are impressed with high-profile DJ lineups and residencies as well as musical talent such as Nicky Siano (an original Studio 54 DJ), The Knocks (J-Patt & B-Roc), Gigamesh, and Chicago house music legend, Derrick Carter.

Disco creates the glamour, sexiness, energy and globally-fueled character of the 70’s from Paris, Rome and NYC. Up to 12 people can book space on the couches positioned on either side of the DJ booth or in the roped off corners of the River North club and order bottles of vodka, gin, whiskey or tequila for $400 or Champagne for $300 to $1,000. Book your party for a Thursday and spirits bottles are discounted to $250. Drinks are served on a clear cart accompanied by mixers including grapefruit radler, ginger beer and orange-pomegranate juice.

One place you will have the same experience over and over again is the Art Institute of Chicago where a permanent collection of iconic masterworks by Dalí, Magritte, Van Gogh, Seurat and Grant Wood makes this museum something akin to your favourite coffee table book come to life. At AIC, even the architecture is part of the fun, ‘Zero Gravity’ in the Modern Wing, anyone? They’ll play some soul. Some funk. Maybe a little house. The night will slip away. 4am will come. You’ll emerge into the pale, pre-dawn light… dressing up here is encouraged. So if you’ve got a vintage three-piece suit you’ve been waiting to whip out, well... it’s now or never. Also: good on you for having that.

The first thing you’ll notice when you enter is the LED-lit floor, flashing a customized series of colors and patterns. You’ll grab a banana-infused gin or an aged-bourbon-cachaça-and-absinthe drink, and head to the shag carpeted area in back with sheepskin-upholstered couches. After a moment or two of repose, you’ll start to dance.
