If you want to have a great night out in Copenhagen but you're more of a fan of lounges, art, and class than of high-energy, bright and young environments, then the Hive nightclub is a wonderful place to relax all evening. The entryway is a bit discrete, so you might even miss it, but if you are a lounge connoisseur, then you'll know this is a sign of a hidden gem.
The atmosphere in this sexy Copenhagen club is dark and sultry. But just because it is a more chill environment doesn't mean it is low-budget. State of the art lighting and sound systems, and a full bar with expert mixologists will ensure that you have a truly luxurious experience.
The lounge seating is abundant and spread out across the venue. You will get a great angle to watch people dancing wherever your table is. The VIP seating is cordoned off, so you can rest assured if you don't want to be bothered by other guests, you won't. There is also balcony seating for those who love to people watch from a distance. Something that is easy to miss, wherever you are, is the number of floors this building has. There are a range of different rooms spread out over, as far as we found, three floors. And each room has a slightly different atmosphere. If you like to enjoy a venue in its entirety, definitely explore.
The prices here are a little steep, but definitely not bad, especially not for bottle service. Besides that, you get some free drinks with entry most nights, which more than makes up for the slightly higher bottle prices compared to other clubs. The staff are super attentive and informed, so whatever you want, they will try and get it for you, from huge bottles of champagne to personalized cocktails. If you like lounges but you also love great entertainment, be sure to check out which live acts they will have on. Most nights this trendy little club offers some sort of talented live band or singer, which is an absolute treat.
As we all know, Europeans take their clubbing seriously. After all, if you get any sleep at all, did you even party? Part of what makes this one of the best Copenhagen clubs is the fact that it keeps going until the cafes open in the morning. Once you're out, you can just make your way to a nice coffee and breakfast.
The minimum age here is eighteen, so it is great for a tourist's first time lounge experience. That said, just because the minimum age is a bit low doesn't mean the crowd is too young. Expect classy people in their twenties and early thirties mostly. The dress code here is naturally stricter, as it is vital to keep certain standards in a lounge. Cocktail dresses and heels for the ladies. Buttoned shirts and smart shoes for the men. You can get away with business casual and some male jewellery, but really try and keep it classy.
