If you are looking for a truly sexy Parisian experience, then Le Chez Papillon in Paris has you covered. The intimate decor and the fun, modern music at this Paris nightclub make it ideal for people who are looking for a fun, relaxed night out with their partners, or for a double date night, stag do, or hen night. Not so much for groups of friends or business groups.
The smooth red mood lighting makes the dining areas perfect for a romantic meal or a fun, sexy party. The soft reds, blues, pinks, and purples will leave you feeling that you have entered a sort of futuristic burlesque themed club, and the tables are laid out perfectly for a nice cosy meal.
Moving away from the dining area into the club, there is an open dance floor and several booths. The dance floor is pretty small, but the lighting is good and the music is very danceable. On the plus side, a nice crowd builds up fairly quickly, bringing some much needed energy to the venue. You will have a good time even if you are more used to busy clubs.
The bar is well stocked and elegant, offering a variety of bottles and cocktails. However the prices are pretty heavy even by tourist standards, and the quality and diversity of refreshments is not much greater than what you would find at a more reasonably priced venue.
The decor is distinctly old school Vegas styled, with LED light letters, red velvet everywhere, sparklers, big bottles of champagne, and masked events. You will not want for social connections at this Paris nightclub, where people will mingle, dance, and chat until the lights come back on.
The music is incredibly diverse, from top 40 tracks to RnB, from old school pop to disco, and from house to rap and 90s hits. If you are looking for a more authentic Paris club experience, then you might want to look elsewhere, but if you want American or international music that you are familiar with and comfortable dancing to, then this might be the right place for you to go.
Entry is only for people aged 25 and over. They may allow 18 year olds in on some nights, but generally it seems the rule that you must be over 25. ID will be requested and a passport is the best option, as it is a clear, genuine piece of ID that bouncers will be familiar with. If they suspect your ID may be fake, they will err on the side of caution.
If you step outside you will not be allowed to enter again. They also have a strict policy concerning dress code, no smoking allowed, and are not slow to evict anyone who is showing signs of starting something aggressive. This shouldn't be a problem for most of us, but just be warned that they are very strict about who they admit, and they are not too shy to kick someone out if they suspect that something is amiss.
