Hobo club has now permanently closed.

Not the most inviting name, but definitely don't let its tongue in cheek humour put you off! This is an authentic, international night club experience, right in the middle of Paris.

The Hobo Nightclub in Paris has an edgy inner decor, a bit like a modern take on a 1980s geometric theme. The modern "broken mirror" patterns on the walls bring a but of an urban twist to this otherwise traditional and sumptuous lounge. The booths are long and open, very comfortable, and upholstered in leather.

The state of the art lighting bathes the Hobo Club in an array of rainbow lights, all of which reflect perfectly off the warm wooden and leather tones and the smooth, shiny geometric shapes.

There is a reasonable amount of space to dance in if you feel inspired to, but for much of the night this lounge has a sophisticated and relaxed feel to it, encouraging you to just kick back and enjoy a few drinks and a chat with your friends or with some attractive, fun strangers.

The music has a bias towards hip hop, but there will be a bit of house earlier in the night and some EDM later on. Above all, the music is to be danced to, so expect some popular, fun beats that get you going.

Expect to pay a lot for drinks. It is actually a better idea to invest in bottle service than to worry about buying individual shots and drinks. Not only will you get better value for money, but you will receive the best treatment, and will really feel like a VIP. They also offer appetizers depending on the night and the event, but if you want any you may need to order early.

Like all Paris nightclubs, the party really doesn't get started until later. If you show up around midnight it will be pretty quiet, but as the hours roll by you will find that the party gets properly pumping and the dancing begins in earnest.

Getting into Le Hobo Nightclub in Paris is not too difficult, depending on the night. Get on the guest list and make a reservation. Generally it is not too busy, especially not before two in the morning, so if you have a reservation you should be able to get in easily, sometimes without even queueing. Men need to wear collared shirts and smart jeans to get in, and women need to wear a sexy cocktail dress and heels. Some exceptions are made for sportswear, but I wouldn't count on it. Cover can be free depending on who you are, how busy they are, and what night it is. Just remember that the drinks run a bit expensive, so you will end up paying about the same at the end of the night anyway.

If you use a promoter you might even be able to have the full royal treatment, with both your promoter and your server caring for you all night long. This is a wonderful thing for inexperienced travellers who want to relax and enjoy themselves.
