"Some will try to change the world and some will create their own" – these are the words and main idea of the founders of Alphabet Club.
Alphabet Tel Aviv is the club focused in creating a platform for local artists, in belief that development and creativity of every one of us should be limitless and always deeper, without barriers, especially mental barriers. Open minds and open views are that which lead us to endless creative results. At 2017 was established “Letters” Booking Agency. Its first task is, besides creating limitless atmosphere for local artists and exhibitionists, also to represent the best local DJs, being the center and home of the Tel Aviv’s electronic scene.
The Club is divided into three rooms, following the Greek alphabet: those are Alpha, Gamma and Phi.
Alpha Room is an open space with the combination of industrial elements, high ceilings, white ceramic tiles and red color that sets the main tone in the room.
The lighting is characterized by fluorescent tones, providing a wide range of different lighting atmospheres. The system is the best: it is produced by a Jamaican sound system made in a 5 WAY configuration.
Gamma Club is a space mainly characterized by wooden floors and wood-covered walls. It should looks like officers’ clubs during the Vietnam War and sailing inside the heart of an old ship. Red light is again the main color. Turbo sound system and an analog E&S DJR400 mixer made that Gamma became one of the hottest venues in Tel Aviv.
Phi is a Community garden, an additional space for those who want to have some chill out moments outside. The place is open every working day, and non-stop during weekends. Its peaceful environment, surrounded by both an indoors and open space, is ideal for after work moments. You can get rich menu of healthy shakes, freshly squeezed juices (with or without alcohol). Everything is self-served, which gives the customers maximum freedom of movement. There are many music and different artistic events in the Garden, from time to time.
Letters Book Agency has a central task to be a professional home for local DJs. The vision of Letters is very simple: “Our artists are our greatest inspiration and therefore understand that we provide them with all possible support. Our agency, as a significant component within the local and the global scene, serves as a professional bridge for our artists”. For that reason the Agency has decided to cooperate and work together with Alphabet club, supporting DJs and local artists who perhaps have difficult to extreme their exhibitionism in a bit patriarchal Jewish atmosphere. Thanks to this cooperation, Alphabet Club became one of the most – if not the most underground scene of Tel Aviv’s nightlife. Some of the DJs that are supported by Letters Agency are: Alex Levin, TV.OUT, E-Bony, DEEP’A & BIRI, Lily Haz, Olsvanger, Coobe, etc.
Alex Levin is dedicated to the fine art of constructing a DJ set, viewing the DJ set as an opportunity to experience a happening over a long period of time. Alex has been focusing in discovering and exploring the technical and spiritual possibilities an extended DJ set can offer. Based in Tel Aviv for the last decade, he is a former resident of the Technodrome Crew, the groundbreaking Cheesecake parties in the Breakfast club whilst joining the now Berlin-based Legotek label. Currently, Alex is set in a residency in the notorious PAG nights in Alphabet club, allowing him to maintain his ongoing musical investigation not entirely sure of where it may lead.
Therefore, different internationally appreciated DJs from Tel Aviv had started or are supported by Alphabet club. It is a gay friendly and open-mind colored club. Passing by straight old streets of Tel Aviv, meeting traditional Jewish Rabies or Arab inhabitants, entering in Alphabet, you will find the European or New York atmosphere in the middle of this old traditional city. And that paradox will be the best experience for you, especially if you are tourist and you are looking for meet 2 worlds – an old and a modern – both of them into one unique place!
